About Darrin Gonchar

How Darrin Gonchar Began His IT Career

Darrin Gonchar’s interest with computers started in high school.  He would occasionally bring home computers, and quickly found that he enjoyed taking them apart and putting them back together.  He went on to study IT at the College of Staten Island, and graduated with a Bachelor in Computer Science.  With his degree, Darrin Gonchar began working at a couple different companies.  Once he gained the experience that he needed, he took his strong knowledge of computers and decided to open his own company.

Darrin Gonchar started TCA Associates in his home in the year 2000.  The name TCA represented his three daughters at the time – Taylor, Caitlin and Amanda.  Once his fourth daughter, Samantha, was born, TCA Associates was renamed to CATS Technology Solutions Group, to include the names of all four of Darrin Gonchar’s beautiful daughters.  With the new company name came a lot of growth for CATS Technology.

It transformed into an award winning MSP located in East Brunswick, NJ.  Darrin Gonchar created a successful company with about 20 full time technicians who work around the clock to make sure that all clients are taken care of.  Darrin Gonchar truly built his company from the ground up; had a dream and with hard work and dedication, was able to make it happen.

Darrin Gonchar’s Meaning Behind CATS Technology

CATS Technology Solutions Group, Inc. is a single source provider for all of your IT needs.  Interesting, right? But what does CATS stand for?  Many of CATS clients are also intrigued by this question and in fact it is one of the most common questions we get asked.  CATS President, Darrin Gonchar’s first love is his family; technology is a close second and by entwining two of his favorite things he came up with CATS (Computer Assisted Technology Solutions) which is an acronym for his four beautiful daughters, Caitlin, Amanda, Taylor and Samantha.  As a successful business owner, you can imagine Darrin Gonchar doesn’t have a lot of free time.  However, any free time that he does have, he enjoys spending it with his family.

The words Computer Assisted Technology Solutions (CATS) does a great job of explaining exactly what CATS Technology offers.  As our clients know, we are a one-stop managed service provider for any and all IT needs.  Darrin Gonchar and the entire company take pride in being the sole contact our clients require in order to resolve all of their problems or concerns that stretch across the entire IT spectrum.  It doesn’t matter what the issue is, one of our 20 highly trained and knowledgeable IT technicians will be able to assist you with whatever you need.

Darrin Gonchar’s idea to incorporate family and technology into the CATS name works out really well in describing what CATS represents.  Everyone at CATS Technology feels like one big family, both inside and outside of the office which is exactly what Darrin Gonchar’s goal has always been.

2013 Camaro SS Convertible

A Modern take on a Classic

My friend recenty picked up a new 2013 Camaro Convertible SS and sent me some pictures.

I have driven a V6 Camaro Convertible but not a V8 yet.

I really like how Chevy kept the classic lines of the old Camaro’s while at the same time making it look modern.

He said it was too quiet and added some Solo Performance Axel Back Muffler Delete Pipes.

I still love my classic but it must also be nice to have modern anemeties such as power windows, heated seats and cold AC!

Fuel Injection Issues – Accel DFI?

Go back to a carb or stick with fuel injection?

I’ve been trying to track down a bogging issue I have  with the Camaro. A few shops I deal with just want to rip the fuel injection out and go carburetor but I don’t want to do that.

Spoke to my good friend Rich Plakas who used to have a fuel injected 72 Vette with a 383 engine. He said it looks similar to his setup which was an Accel DFI.

I need to snoop around the car and find the ECU box to know for sure and then I am going to talk to a few shops that tune late model GM cars and see if they can tune out my issues.

Stay “tuned” ;-)
